HBIS Serbia has been granted a greenhouse gas (GHG) emission permit by the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the Republic of Serbia. This GHG emission permit issued in Serbia, making HBIS Serbia one of the first industrial companies in the country to achieve this significant milestone, in accordance with the Law on Climate Change. The law mandates that any facility engaging in activities leading to GHG emissions must possess an emission permit, and the conditions for applying for the permit were created when the Rulebook on Monitoring and Reporting on GHG Emissions entered into force in 2024.
After reviewing the submitted documentation, the Ministry determined that HBIS Serbia provided all necessary data. The Environmental Protection Agency assessed in its report that HBIS Serbia's Monitoring Plan was developed in accordance with regulations and that the company is capable of ensuring proper monitoring and reporting of GHG emissions in compliance with the law.
This major project was fully executed using HBIS Serbia’s internal resources. The company plans to continue improving its monitoring plan and will focus on reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, aligning its operations with global environmental protection standards.
HBIS Serbia remains committed to sustainable development and environmental preservation, setting high industry standards both locally and globally.
